Service Technician – NSW (Electrical / VSD Focus)

Wetherill Park | Negotiable base dependant on experience + vehicle + overtime

I’m recruiting a Service Technician for a global electrical motors, drives, gearbox's, power products and automation products manufacturer that is expanding its NSW service capability. This role suits a qualified electrician with strong hands‑on experience in variable speed drives, motors and fault‑finding, who enjoys a mix of field work, technical support and customer interaction.

About the Role

You’ll support customers, distributors and internal teams across NSW. The work is varied and includes:

  • On‑site commissioning, start‑ups and troubleshooting
  • Phone‑based technical support for drives, motors and related equipment
  • Warranty assessments, reporting and documentation
  • Spare parts interpretation and quotations
  • Training for internal staff and authorised service partners
  • Working closely with sales and product teams on applications and customer requirements

Right now the role is roughly 3–4 days in the office and 1 day in the field, with the intention to increase field time as the NSW service function grows.

What You’ll Need

  • Qualified electrician (or Engineers Australia‑recognised electrical engineer)
  • Strong experience with variable speed drives and/or soft starters
  • Confident electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and standards
  • Clear communicator with solid documentation and reporting capability
  • Comfortable delivering training to small or large groups
  • Valid driver’s licence, White Card and ability to obtain a passport

Nice to have:
Experience with BESS, wind, PLC/HMI programming or commissioning.

Travel & Work Environment

  • Occasional interstate and international travel for commissioning
  • Overtime available (time‑and‑a‑half / double time)
